LONE WOLF is a devised, experimental folk horror piece presented as a WIP at the Gateway New Writing Festival in 2025. Set in a forest, it stages an existential battle between a man and a wolf, exploring themes of exile, otherness, identity, and violence through music, movement, costume, materials and text. Lone wolf wavers between comedy, drama, and horror to tell a poetic and visceral tale of displacement and dehumanisation.
"If I had words
I would tell you to shoot me
Shoot me like the
Beast I am
The monster in your dreams
I would tell you to
Shoot me
And if you have any bullets left
I would tell you to take that thing and
Blow your brains out"

Lone wolf was devised from an original idea by Dougal Thomson.
